Functional Description | NtrB acts as a signal transducer which responds to the nitrogen level of cell and modulates the activity of NtrC. In nitrogen limitation NtrB activates NtrC by phosphorylating it, while in nitrogen excess NtrC is dephosphorylated and consequently inactivated by NtrB. |
