Functional Description
 Component of the cytosolic iron-sulfur (Fe/S) protein assembly machinery. Required for the maturation of extramitochondrial Fe/S proteins (By similarity). Has anti- apoptotic effects in the cell. Involved in negative control of H(2)O(2)-induced cell death, probably by tethering the pro- apoptotic factor TAH18 in the cytoplasm in the absence of oxidative stress (By similarity).
