 Involved in transport from the ER to the Golgi apparatus as well as in intra-Golgi transport. It belongs to a super-family of proteins called t-SNAREs or soluble NSF (N-ethylmaleimide- sensitive factor) attachment protein receptor. Rescues alpha- factor maturation defects.
