Functional Description
 Component of the pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) complex, that catalyzes the overall conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA and CO(2). AceE has reductase activity with pyruvate but does not react with 2-oxoglutarate (By similarity).
